Lancer Square

Nestled in the heart of the Kensington Palace conservation area, amongst some of the world's most famous cultural institutions in London. The design takes inspiration from the site’s palatial and horticultural past.

Lancer Square is a 13,600 sqm mixed-use scheme integrating four blocks ranging from 4 to 7 tiers, incorporating thirty-six boutique apartments and penthouses, ground floor retail and eateries, a new office establishment alongside a landscaped shared courtyard. This elegant new addition mirrors their Royal neighbours and radiates pride within a dignified London home.

A series of bespoke branded elements, designed to identify the new timeless garden square, are woven into the fabric of the buildings – from the external façade, feature screens and ironmongery to the door handles and texture that is touched – with each of the residential, office and retail components of the development given its own emblem.

With a combination of crafted design details, bespoke-manufactured items and a mixture of finishes, the architectural ironmongery specification contributed to creating the luxurious interior aesthetic of this project, including all door trim and mechanical hardware.

Working closely with the Squires & Partners, Franchi delivered a host of bespoke-designed products including Lever handles which were created incorporating the design motif at the junction of the stem and handle as well as at the end of the lever handlebar. Similarly, unique hexagonal flush pulls were formed to mirror the design motif of the development.

We are delighted our recently completed project for Lancer Square has been shortlisted in the prestigious 2022 GAI RIBA Specification Awards. We are excited about this nomination and look forward to hearing the results very soon.
